» PAPARUA CLTJB. A meeting of the committee of the Pap*rua Tennis Club was hold on Monday, Mr G. McNally presiding. Keeling refcronc© was mado to the death, in action, of Privite Ernest Manhir©, a valued member of the club. Private Manhire is the eecond member to make the supremo sacrifice. A revolution of sympathy was passed with the rolatives of Private L. Corbett .killed in action, and. also of Sergeant ss. SlcGuinncsfl, wounded a second time. _ . Mrs Lane forwarded hor resignation, she having removed from the district. The resignation was accepted with regret. Mr Arthur Spicer waa elected club captain for the current year, and the following were elected members of the club:-Misses M. and J). Coulter, H. Durham, R. McMoekan. and D. Roden. , , , It waa decided to puTcbasc poles and -Train? for the Feats on tho grounds, and to gl-* all the practical assistance po«nblo to _ tho School Committee with their Fancy Fair.
