The Monowai will probably bo despatched from Wellington to-night. It has now been arranged for her to call at Lyfctelton an her way south. The Putiki, which was expected to arrive here to-morrow from W anganui, has been delayed, and will now sail direct to Dunedin, omitting her projected call at Lyttelton. Mr C. Tennant has aignedi on the Mararoa as fourth officer. Captain E. A. Cox has joined the Karu, with Mr P. Peldek as chief mate, Mr J. Pittar second mate, Mr W. Wilson. engineer, and Mr C. Waiden steward. The steamer Paeroa, which was recently purchased by the Hokitika Shipping Company, arrived in Wellington harbour direct from Auckland on Wednesday. She is a trim little craft, and is commanded temporarily by Captain Jamieson, formerly of the Defender. FROM AUSTRALIA.
