An official report states:— "The King lias issued the following messago:— "To my people,— "The world-wide struggle for the triumph of liberty is entering on its last and most difficult phase. The enemy is striving by desperate assaults and subtle intrigue to perpetuate tho wrongs he has already committed. To stem the tide and free civilisation we vet have to complete the great task to which wc havo dedicated ourslvcs. "I would call upon you to devote a special day for prayer that •we may havo clear-sightedness and tho strength necessary for victory in our cause. This victory will ho gained only if we steadfastly remember the responsibility resting unon us, and in a spirit of reverent obedience ask tho blessing of Almighty God upon our ondoavours. Let us eeek to be enlightened in our understanding, and fortified in our courage in facing tho sacrifices we may yet have to make.
