SIX O'CLOCK CLOSING.
PRESENT POSITION OF THE BILL. (special to "tub tress.") WELLINGTON, September 27. Mention was made of the Salo of Liquor Restriction Bill in the Legislative Council to-day. This Bill, after being passed by tin House of' Representatives, was referred by tlio Legislative Council to its Statutes Revision Committoa, in accordance with a promise made by the Ministers in the Houso that further consideration would bo given to the question of how to adjust rents as betivoan landlords and licensee under tho conditions created by early closing. Sir Francis Bell said that the Committee, which had been engaged in tho consideration of a difficult problem, would probably bo able to mako its roport to the Council on Thursday next. It had been hearing evidence, tod would bo in a position to begin its deliberations on Wednesday.
