; GRAND NATIONAL MEETING CONCLUDING 3>AY. The Canterbury Jockey Club's Grand National Meeting trill be concluded at Riccarton to-day, and, given fine weather, the fixture is sure to attract .a large attendance. The fields engaged arc good, averaging fourteen per race, and the class of the competitors is quite sufficient to ensure some excellent raciqg. Tho principal flat event, tho August Handicap, has drawn a field of smart sprinters, including Miss de Val, Samisen, Tip Up, and Zuland. Although there arc only nine horses left in tho Beaufort Steeplechase, it will provide a very interesting raco with sucii jumpers us Bracburn, Gluepofc, St. Elrnn included in tho field, and so also with the Sydenham Hurdle liaco, in which Hcwi P-oto, Crib, Leonta, Bon iteve. Sir Fisher, To Onga, and Sir Solo figure.
