RICHMOND DOMAIN BOARD.
PINAL MEETING. Tli© final meeting of the Richmond Domain Board was held in "th-o Hinisterial t room, Government Buildings, yesterday afternoon, when there were preterit—Hon. G-. W, Kuaaell (chairman), Messrs J*. A. EUe-sher, K. Baseett, AV, H. Lawrence, J. Rowe, J. Hughes, and L. Banks (secretary). The City Council wrote* agreeing to take over control of the Domain. The chairman said that ft clause would b© inserted in the "Washing-tip Bill" to provide for tho merging of the Cashmere, Beckenhara, and Richmond Domains under the control cf the Council. He suggested that tho Council should be recommended to name the Richmond Domain "Ansae Park." Mr Flesher thought that it would be better to reserve the name for eoniethin*? in the shape of a memorial park. He wsa under tho impression that thn name "Anzac" was to ; be kept as sacred as poesible. The chairman said that it could not be j used for advertising purposes. On the motion of Mr Lawrence, seconded of Mr Hughes, it wns decided to suggest to the City Council that ihe Domain be named Anzac Park. It wa<* decided to have a memorial plate attached to o?ie of the p*ate=i of t'i-> park, the on the plat? to*b= left, to Messrs Fio«ber «.nd Baosc-tt to decide on. The secretary wa? accorded a hearty vote of thank l ;, and r> formal motion dissolving the Board wa.3 agreed to.
