. ASHLEY. Tho Ashk-y County Council met at Loburn. on Thursday. Present—Messrs Hugh Ensor (chairman)," Hiatt, Joyce, O'Halloran, Philpott, and Wilson. Hamlyn, contractor, for the MaJcirikiri bridge was accepted for tho fencing of tho approaches to the new bridge. It was revolved to repeat the general shingling repairs of Inst year, calling tenders, however, at per cubic yard for three separate portions of the county. This work, it wa6 resolved, be put in hand at once, and it was decided to introduce the method of depots of shingle, in addition to present repairs, placed at intervals along the main road. TAWERA.
