GIFTS FOR OUR SOLDIERS.

PROVIDING FOR UNITS

LETTER FROM LORD PLUNKET

(press association telegram.) WELLINGTON, June 18. Her Excellency the Countess of Liverpool has received the following letter from Lord Plunket, under date of March 22nd: — "Dear Lady Liverpool,— I think the enclosed will interest you, and please some of your workers. It shows that successful efforts are being made by the New Zealand military gift section to see that the temporarily isolated units of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force in France are not forgotten. It is one of the difficulties which have t 0 be faced, as these little units— bakeries, siguallers, railway workers, pioneers, etc. —spring into existence, live a short but most useful life, ana are absorbed again, and to keep on their track is not easy. The following was received by the New Zealand gifts section from 0.C., New Zealand Field Bakery: 'I herewith acknowledge receipt of two cases of gift parcels. They ■were very welcome, and highly appreciated by all ranks of this unit, tbe more so* as we are detached from tne N.Z.E.F., and these parcels served to remind us that wq are not forgotten by the people of New Zealand or their representatives in England. W. T. Lloyd, 2nd Lieut., O.<J. New Zealand Field Bakery, Riouen, March 17th, 1917.'»
