TRAMWAY BOARD.
FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. The Christchurch Tramway Board met yesterday afternoon. Present—Messrs C. M. Gray (chairman), J. A. Flesher, H. Pearce, G. T. Booth, A. S. Taylor, S. A. Staples, D. Sykes, T. H. Davey, and Hon. J. Barr. The Bank of New Zealand wrote consenting to tho erection, of a. temporary shelter against its building. The letter was received, and it was resolved to forward the Board's thanks to the directors of the Bank. Letters from tho Woolston. Borough Council and other Woolston sources protesting against tho time-table alterations were read and received, and the secretary's reply approved. The Town Clerk's wrote, forwarding a farther complaint from the Lin wood • Citizens' Association concerning the dangerous corner at the intersection of Caehel street and Stanmore road, and asking if the' Board would move the lino over a few feet northwards. The matter waa referred to tho 'Works and Traffic Committee. Another letter from the Town Clerk asked if the Board wonld pay a fourth of the cost of widening the Heathcote bridge on Colombo street south, the other contributors being tho Heathcote County and the Spreydon Borough. The estimated cost was £300. On the motion of Mr Booth it was decided that the Board would be willing to contribute onefourth of that sum. Letters of thanks for improved services were received from the North Brighton and Riccarton Burgesses' Association?.
