CASUALTIES.

On Saturday afternoon a Lincoln College student named Wm. Elliott was riding a motor-cycle near the corner of Oxford ten-ace and Lichfield street, when he collided with a motorcar. Tho motor-cycle was rather badly damaged, and its rider sustained painful injuries to his hands, head, and legs. He was taken to the Hospital, whero it was found that his injuries were not serious. . Mr G. L. Thomson, representing the New Zealand Refrigerating Company, met with a nasty accident on Tuesday morning, when a dense fog prevailed (says tho "Balclutha Freo Press"). Ho was motor-cycling up the steep hill at North Balclutha, and when turning across at the water tower his bicycle skidded on tho greasy clay, and lie was thrown heavily to the ground, receiving several nasty cuts and bruises about tho head and face, also fractured ribs. Ho was rendered unconscious by the fall. Mr Thdßison is progressing as well as can bo expected, but it will bo a weok or two before he will bo ablo to resume his employment. ' An accident occurred at Rangtora'on Saturday, resulting in Mr George Chambers, who was cutting wood with a circular saw, having; two of his fingers cut. Ho was attended by Dr. Burnett, who found it necessary to amputate ono of the fingers.
