COMPENSATION FOR DAMAGES. (PRESS ASSOCIATION" TELEGRAM.) DANNFVIRKE', June 15. Tho Waipawa Hospital Board yesterday confirmed the terms agreed ou to settle til© action - brought by Private C. Hill, claiming £3000 compensation for damages allegedly sustained while undergoing X-ray treatment at tho Dannevirke Hospital. The resolution adopted stated that at the instance of the Government the Board approved of tho payment of £1300 to Hill in full settlement of the claim and costs, half to be paid by the Government and half by the Board. The Board disclaimed any liability ou the part of the Government or the Board and its officers and sen-ants ami passed a resolution expressing confidence in the matron, and regretting its inability to make public the details in regard to the matter.
