Hundreds of Germans have been brought down during May, severely straining the German aerial resources, as i 3 evidenced bv tho faulty construction of many of tie captured machines, and the tendency to break to pieces in mid-air when hotly attacked. ?>lr Beach Thomas states that during the recent favourable east winds, the British planes almost lived behind the German lines. The King and Queen and tho Princess Royal visited Mr Grahame White's Hendon -works on Thursday, and, were greatly interested in the various types of machines. They saw a remarkable exhibition of flying by Captain Hucks o n trie latest biplane, which attains a maximum speed immediately it leaves the ground. Other new types include
a slow-flying training machine, and a small grey-painted machine which is a wonderful climber, and invaluable for defensive work. They witnessed a mock air-battle between two fast planes. Their Majesties departed letween lilies of cheering factory employees, including hundreds of girls.
