AN APPEAL.
TO THE EDITOR OF PRESS." Sir,— May I, through yc-ur far-reach-ing influtn-e, appeal to the citizens of Chiistchurch on bahalf of a peculiar need of tho Linwood district. In my work amongst the sick and poor or Linwood, I find many eases of sickness, where the patients are unable to get out in the fresh air without an ini valid chair. Most of these cases are amongs,t the poorer classes, who cannot afford the expense of a chair. Perhaps amo..gst your readers there is sonic home wnero such a chair has been neces-ary, but is no longer required. Wouid such a on© put it at the disposal of those as needy, and yet less able to get such a luxury? Surely such a nosd has only to be ventilated to be met, for one's compassion is everready toward the helpless amongst us I On behalf of tho East Belt Wesley Church I would bo glad to hoar of anyone wil ing to donate a chair, which we would keep in trust for tho district cases. —Yours, etc., SISTER ANNIE TOCKER. 354 Hereford street, Christchurch.
