CASUALTIES.
On Thursday, while Mr H. Pearce, of Kaiapoi, was engaged sawing and planing;, a piecc of timber flew back from the circular saw, inflicting severe outs and bruises on his forehead. Medical aid was obtained, and yesterday he was progressing as well as could he expected. G. Dick, employed at Hobs on's wool works, and residing at Avonside, yesterdav received injuries to his right hand which necessitated his removal to the Hospital last night. It is understood that tl.o injuries were caused by his hand getting caught in some machinery.
(FKX33 ASSOCIATION* TILIGBA1I.) AUCKLAND, June 1. Alfred Devero, boatswain in an island steamer, was found dead ou the morning of May 21st, when the steamer was at sea. The body was buried at eea.
