A most successful flower show and bazaar was held in the Frebblotou Hall in aid of the funds of the local lied Cross branch and of the Hall Committee. Although too late for most flowers, ail excellent disp.ay of fruit arid vrirelablcs was made. In addition to the show tiio following stalls did «. brisk busi-ness-—Sweets, Mesdames E. Adam. H. Paterscn. and Misses Boag and Xico son ; small produce, Mesdames Hartnell, Kolkmun, MeMnekin. Downev, and Graham; fish poud, Misses McDonald, Legg, and Carpenter, issistcd bv Misses Clifford, Cherry, and hag csome; refreshments, Mesdames Ash, Prebble, C'.ray IMorlajid, and Millar; largo produce, Mr K. Adam. Tho financial results were excellent-, i'll 3 being realised as follows : - Sweets stall JEIS Us 4d. small produce stall £20 8s lOd, fish pond £10 Hs. large produce e 33 17s, refreshments £8 6a Id. The excellent financial result is largelv due to the generous donations of fho residents of tho district who, almost without exception, gave liberally either produce or cash.
