The statement made recently that Brigadier-General H. Hart, D.5.0., who has been given the command of tho New Zealand Brigade, is the first New Zealand Territorial officer to be made a brigadier-general, has been cballenced in the "Dominion," without the challengers wishing to detract in tho least from the, merit' of Colonel Hart's promotion. It is pointed out that Maior-Gencral Sir A. H. Russell, K.C.M.G.. commanding the New Zealand Division : in France, was a colonel of Territorials —the Wellington Mounted .Rifle Brigade—before, the war.
