CHILDREN'S MISSIONS.

1 :— Rev. E. Palgrave. Davy, Superintendent of the Xcw Zealand Children's Mission, passed through Christehurch yesterday en route from Auckland to ' Oamaru. During the school holidays it is inten'ded to hold "Sand, Services" at New Brigh- j ton, Sumner, Timaru, Oamaru, and St. | Clair. Mr Davy says that during the j year ending August 31-st nearly 200 ser- : j vices have been conducted; at times ! \ two, three, or even four in one day. ' I These have been held in the State school j before lessons, variously during the \ lunch recess, and after tuition hours, \ with a united gathering in the evening \ at a central hall or church. The at- \ tendance lias been over 30,000, averag- f ing about 160. Services have been held \ in Auckland, Tliames district, Waihi, jj Waikato, _ Feilding, Hastings. Napier, \ Wanganui, "Wellington, and Christ- \ church. Tivclve weeks were spent in \ Christclmrcli. during which 52 meetings f were held, with an aggregate attend- f ance of 13,000.
