Wade has announced that he has declined the offer of the position of Agent-General on the grounds of health. The offer remains open, should he desire to accept it after a lengthy rest and trip. In the Newcastle and Maitland districts, the miners have decided to forgo their usual Christmas holidays excepting Christmas Day. SCHOOL MEDICAL SERVICES. (Received December 18th, 9.40 p.m.) SYDNEY, December 18. The first Australasian Conference of those responsible for school medical services has been opened with delegates from the various States. NewZealand is represented. The conference proposes to fix the standard defects and a common basis for combating them. UNLAWFUL "ASSOCIATIONS. (Received December 18th, - 9.40 p.m.) MELBOURNE, December 18. In the House of Representatives Mr Hughes,_ in introducing the Unlawful Association* Bill, said that it was aimed mainly at the I.W.W. THE ENTERTALVMENT TAX. (Received December 18th, 9.40 p.m.) MELBOURNE, December 18. The Federal Government has amended the Entertainment Taxation Bill by deleting the tax upon sixpenny tickets.
