4 SALE OF WOKX. A eacc>cesful s«Jo of work was held at St. James's Lower Riccarton, on Thursday ilns Boyle opened tho sale, t-lio procoede of which will bo devoted to tbo Vicara-go Fund. The-Ladies' Guild managed the produce and plain work stalls and refreshment!?, the Girls' Guild tho ftmcy. arete, toys, and cut flower stalls and post office, and the senior boys ic© cream, soft driuks. A Rood programmo of mueic, including orchestral and eolo itema was provided by Mr A. A. Bickcrton'e orchestra. LOYAL ADDINGTOX LODGE. The fortnightly meeting of the Loynl Addington Lodge, No. 6544, 1.0.0. F., M.U.. was held on Monday, when there was a fair attendance of members, Bro. J. "\V. Simes, i'C.G., presiding. A report was presented hy Br'o. D. If. Hill, P.G., on tho recent meeting 1 of the U.F.S. Dispensary, which was deemed quit© satisfactory. During the evening P.P.G.M. Bro. A. L. Gourlay, of TiinarJi, paid a visit to the Lodge, and convcved the fr3-ten>.il greetings of tho Loyal Timaru Lodge. The following were nominated is medical officers for the ensuing term:—Drs. T. L. Crcoke, J. D. Marks, Pairman, M. Lonisson, J. K. Thomas.. and W. Browne-. Tbo Deputy Pro. G.M.. Bro. V. K. G»hagan. explained th« steps which had been takon by the Board of Directors of tbo Now Zealand Branch of the Manchester Unity in reference to tho National Provident Fund 6chemc.
