THE CHILDREN OF BELGIUM.
A CHRISTMAS APPEAL.
Some little time ago the Lord Mayor of London, acting for the authorities in London who are charged with maintaining the work of raising funds for the relief of the unhappy people of Belgium, sent out a circular Tetter asking for co-operation in a plan to raise a spccial Christmas fund for the mitigation of the unhappiness of the children in Belgium. This appeal lias been heard, and steps are being taken to raise money by the various bodies concerned with Belgian relief. Th« executive of the local Belgium Relief Fund is taking activc steps to secure that Canterbury shall make a good showing in a cause which is vcrv appropriate to the present season. We have been asked to open a subscription list, and wb do so very willingly. Every contribution sent in to "The Press" office will be acknowledged, and wo trust that they will be many.
