WHEAT AND FLOUR.
ENCOURAGEMENT OF WHEAT PRODUCTION. CONFERENCE OF GROWERS. The Hon. W. D. S. Mac Donald, Minister of Agriculture, stated on Friday that the Board of Trade and the Boaro' of Agriculture would meet in a fe* days. Telegrams had boon sent to reprcsentative farmers in the wheat-grow-ing districts suggesting that a conference of farmers should be arranged to discuss the proposed scheme to encourage wheat production, and asking them to arrange a date, but it waa probable that this conference wodla not be held until after the Christmas holidays. As the result of telegrams which passed on Saturdav between Mr ™ • Nosworthy, M.P., and Mr \V. J. Dickie, M.P and the Minister of Agriculture, the following wheatgrowers have been invited to attend the conference to be held in Christchurch:—Mr John Cairns (Wakanui), Colonel K. McKenoe (Geraldine). Messrs G. A. M. McDonald (Orari), A. Drummond (Lauriston). W. Harrison (Rakaia), J. W. Hampton (Hinds), and J. Cullcn (SheffieldJ.
