A CHRISTMAS APPEAL
Some little time aco the Lord Mayo of London, acting for the authorities ii London who arc charged with main taining the work of raising funds fo tho relief of the unhappy people of Bel gium, sent out a circular letter a6kinj for co-oporation in a plan to raisp i special Christmas fund for the mitiga tion of the unhappiness of the childrei in Belgium. This appeal has hcei heard, and steps axe being taken t< raise money by the various bodies con cerned with Belgian relief. The ex ocutive of tho local Belgium Rcliei Fund is taking active steps to secure that Canterbury shall make a good showing in a causo which is verv appropriate to the present season. j Wo have been asked to open n subscription list, and we do so very willingly.
