' Mr Oeorge Ounlop. of "Waimatc, brought under the Board's notice a etump-pullinsr plant for dca.lin;r with willows and similar trees. —The overseer was instructed 'to ascertain the coet of working the plant. The overseer reported that sine© last meeting the willows in tbe Waihi river, from Pcckham's Crossing down to Jjeonard's boundary, had been cut at the cost of HI 7s 6d, a-nd the men were now continuing on pa«t lieonaj-d's. The contractor for the embankment had not yet made a start.
