Chcrlcs McPhcrson, charged with drunkenness and obscenc language, was fined £5 on the latter charge, and was convicted and discharged on the count of drunkenness. A BROKEN ORDER. Charles Weston, charged with drunkenness and a breach of his prohibition order, was remanded for a week. CIVIL BUSINESS. In each of the following cases judgment for the amount claimed, with costs, was entered for the plaintiff by default: —Booth, Macdonald and Co., Ltd., v. David Boyes, £19 12s 6d; Taylor Publishing Co. v.'Fred. Prentice, £1 12s; H. Matson and Co. v. R. Neale, £4 3s Gd; Norman V. Smith and Co. v. L. 11. Wilson. £6 17s 6d. RESERVED JUDGMENT. His Worship delivered. judgment in the cass of William Todd ('Mr Hunt) v. the New Zealand Rubberair Company, a claim for £188 13s, the hearing of which was. taken on Monday last. His Worship said that he had only reserved judgment in order to look into the various items,' which were' somewhat complicated. He disallowed entirely the claim, lor driver's Wages, and allowed items to the extent of £13G 2s od, from which £31 5s already to the plaintiff's Credit was deducted, leaving a total of £104 17s sd. Of this amount as it had boen agreed between the parties, £65 • Kfe was to -be left in Court to plaintiff's.credit, subject to •an agreement being arrived' at between the parties,, and, not. to be, paid-out without "an .order from his' Worship.
