FIRMNESS OF LOCAL BOROUGH COUNCIL. < l-RF.SS ASSOCIATION TKI.F.GRAII.) GREYMOUTH. December 7. On behalf of a Labour organisation, Mr G. li. Hunter, of Runanga, applied to the local Council at its meeting last evening for the use of the band rotunda for a demonstration on Saturday afternoon next. On the motion of tho Mayor (Mr Perkins'), the Council refused by a unanimous vote to allow the applicants the use of either the rotunda or any oi the streets of the town. The Mayor sajd that in view of the War Regulations, he could not entertain for a minute such an application.
