The invaders planned to ruin Belgian industries, and forced the deportations in order to release Germans for the army. Belgium has supplied four-fifths of tho Western Army's needs. The total German profits from tho occupation of Belgium have reached 2,000,000,000 j marks. Salaries aro only paid to workmen who sign engagement registers, and they are obliged to work in virtual slavery." M.
