DEPARTING SOLDIERS.

VARIOUS PRESENTATIONS. Thcro was a large' gathering in tho 'Springfield Hall on Friday evening to 'bid farewell to Trooper \V. Milliken, who leaves with the 20th Reinforcements. Dancing was kept going till an early hour to music supplied by Miss O. Mcllrath and Mr S. Quaife. During an interval Mr H. Mcllrath presented the guest with a safety razor, and wished him good luck, and a safe return, A social gathering was held in the Halkett School to bid. farewell to Private A. J. Hulston, of tho 20th Reinforcements. During the evening songs were contribHtcd by Misses Henderson, Turner, Messrs Calder and McKay. Messrs Htjtton and Hill supplied the music. s During an interval, Mr G. Watson, on behalf of the residents of the combined districts of Hali kett and West Melton, presented Private Hulston with a case of pipes and a gold medal. Dancing was indulged in till the early hours. The congregation of the church at n similar function presented Private Hulston with a wristlet watch.
