SWIMMING.
NOEXH CANTERBURY CLUB : ANNUAL MEETING. Tho fourth a.TmwnJ meeting of the North Canterbury Swimming Club wafi hold at lUngiora last evening, Mr W. T. Wilson presiding. The annual report 6tated that out of a membership of 68, 19 Lad been on active service. No club competitions and no carnivals were hold during the past season on account of the fact that the majority of tho active members were at the front.
| The balance-sheet showed receipts £21 lo 2d, expenditure £18 126 6d, leaving a credit balance of £2 8s Bd. The report and balance-sheet adopted. Officers were elected as follows: —Patrons, the Hon, D. Buddo, M.P., Major B. Jordan, Dr. T. A. Will, Mr C. I. Jennings; president, Mr E. B. P. Brown; vice-presidents, Messrs W. S. Shllton, H. C. D. Van A6ch, and R. Fobister; captain, Mr J. Jordan;' deputy-captain, Mr D.- Blake; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr J. Kinley; auditor, Mr C. X. Jennings; delegate to the Centre, Mr E. Nordon; committee. Messrs W. Batters, J. Kinley, W, T. Wilson. H. Jackson. H. Cob-den-Cor. Three new members were elected and three resignations were received. It was decided to accept the Borough Council's offer for the use of the bath for the coming season at a feo of £5, and a vote of thanks was passed to tho Council for ita liberal treatment. An honorarium of £2 2s was voted to tho secretary, and he handed the sum back to the club. ' It was decided that the subscription for "children under 16 should be Is Gd. It was resolved that a Roll of Honour of tho club's Mcmbere should bo prepared and hung in the bath. Several members spoke in favour of the institution of mixed bathing during certain hours. It was decided that the committee should endeavour to bring in suitable regulations. A deputation was appointed to watt on the Borough Council to obtain permission to carry on mixed bathing, provided that suitable rules were drawn up and enforced. "ALWAYS have "NAZOL" i n the house.
