EXCESS PROFITS TAX.

A HASTINGS SUGGESTION. (rRESS ASSOCIATION' TELEGRAM.) NAPIER, November 17. At a special meeting of tho Hastings Patriotic Society, the following resolution was unanimously adopted :—"That the revenue derived from the excess profit® tax should l>e partly or wholly set a3ide as a special fund apart from tho Government pension scheme, to assist soldiers and their dependants, so that the men who are lighting our battles may not be deprived by Act of Parliament of the help and assistance a grateful public would have given them."
