PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION.
WILSON RETURNED. SMALL MAJORITY. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) (Australian «md. N. 2. Cablo Association.) LONDON, November 10. The Exchange Telegraph Company states that President Wilson was elected by 272 electoral college votes against Mr Hughes - s 243. The above figures leave a discrepancy of 16 votes, as there are 531 electoral college votes. GERMAN COMMENT. A GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) (Australian and X.2. Cable Association.) BERLIN, November 11. The ne\v s of the re-election of President Wilson lias caused _ great disappointment in German political circles, which had founded great hopes upon the President's defeat. The newspapers, however, point _out that Germany knows President Uilson, and does not know Mr Hughes, who might, have made matters worse for the Central Powers. Now that President Wilson is head of the Republic for four years, he may wieli to begin mediation in order to place America's moral standing on an iinassailable basis.
