THE "WEEKLY PRESS."

The moat important feature of the week in the Dominion was the departure of a part of the Eighteenth Reinforcements from Wellington for Auckland, where they paraded. Tho "Weekly Frees," published this morning, has a set of illustrations of tho embarkation, in which many roaderß will find true portraiW of friends and relatives. It was at tho parade of these men that tho Defence Minister made his great promise to the men at the front, which he asked them to convey. "Tell tho men at the front," he said, "that you are only part of the men .that will be regularly sent from New Zealand. Tell them that they never will be left short of men, and that as long as the war lasts drafts will be 6ent to take the places of those who fall. Tell them wo are watching them and caring for those they have left behind." The work which is being done to provide comforts for our boys at the front is illustrated by pictures from Wellington, Christchurch, Temuka, and Oamaru, the latter town providing a great set showing the Red Cross workers engaged. It is always pleasant to hear of the success of New Zealanders, arid therefore readers will welcome a fine budget of pictures of tho Massachusetts Institute of Technology, of which tho president is a New Zealander ; The r/ictures kre accompanied by an informative article bv the Hon. Sir Robett Stout. The war is illustrated by pictures from the various fronts, notably among them pipers loading Highlanders in an advance into the thick of battle at Longueval, an ingenious scn«n arr ranged by the Italians, prisoner* at El Ruman, and many others. Of other pictures there is a large budget, covering all subjects. Like the illustrations. tho letterpress is bright and varied, making up an issue which has seldom been beaten. Readers should order early to secure copies.
