COUNTY COUNCILS.
SPRINGS. The Springs County Council met at Springstop on Tuesday. lttrs M F. Ryan (chairman), J. W. Kimo 1. Andrew, H. pannctt, C. Wolfe, and G. H. W. Stoddart. Mr J. A. Henley, Lincoln, asked tho Council to furnish him with tho names of all ia.-topa.yere in that portion of tho _ county w«6t of tho Southbridge railway line.- It was decided to supply the information asked tO Mr P. Crump, Springs toil, complained that a culvert below hia place was pot largo enough, and threatened tho Council with a legal action in tho event of .his- property being damaged by water. Members who had inspected tho culvert expressed tho vierw that it was large enough, but that the crook below Mr Crump's farm was not clear of obstructions. Tho Audit Department informed tho Council that it oould not make grants to tho county Red Crocs Branches. It was decided to 6tart buying birds' eggs from November Ist. It was stated that tho Paparua County Council's metal-crushing plant would bo at work in tho district for a month. Tho Council decided to improve. the road at Chamberlain's oomer, Bllesmere, to make it eafer for motor traffic. Owing to his removal from the Grecmpark portion of tto district. Cr. Wolfo tendered his resignation as a member of the Council. The resignation was accepted with rogrot, and appreciation of Cr. Wolfe's good work woa expressed by all tho members.
