Cross effort in North Canterbury on Friday, September 29th. The auctioneers of Christchurch have offered to sell free of charge any stock presented for the benefit of the fund. An appeal is consequently made to the farmers of Canterbury to present stock, which should be at the Addington or other yards in time to be sold before Friday week. The Sydenham Football Club has written stating that it will hand over to the fund the proceeds of its dancing assembly evening, which takes place shortly.
