AKAROA-WAINUI ROAD BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. Tho monthly meeting of the Akaroa-Wainui Road Board was held on Saturday. Present —Mcs-sro Goo. Armstrong (in the chair), W. ■\Varn?r, T. "W. Wilkins, K. Pettigrew. and \V. W. Williams.
Teriders were received for the ecoond contract in connexion with tho Balgneri rond deviation, Akaroa, and that cl A. Brown, at £50, was accepted. Mrs Buc'.tland wrote drawing attention to the bad etate of the Beach road near her property. The matter was left in the hands of tha chairman.
It was reported that Piper's Valley road had been badly € con red in several places, tlio stone wall bein<j undermined here ar.d there. Messrs Pcttigrew and Wilkin3. undertook to inspect the road, and ilicy w*re given power to have the nccessary repairs effected. A complaint was lodged from Wainu; rateconccmincr the boga formed by the overflowing of op an. drains through Bates's property. It was agreed to apn!y for an easoinent. and then have suitable drain pine:; laid down.
With regard to the ccck'foot growing on the roadsides, it was decided to sell by auction. next sale day Duvauchelle, the right for harvesting it. The Board's foremen, Messrs W. Shadbolt. H. Dach. and Amos Arnold, submitted reports, of the work done daring the past month. —The reports were received.
