At the wool sale there was an average selection of merinos and fine t crossbreds, for which prices were maintained. Low crossbreds were irregular, and in buyers' favour, with some withdrawals. The Kaputone clip averaged 31.3d, top price being 34Jd. STOCK EXCHANGE SUBDUED. LONDON, July 19. The stock market is subdued owing to uncertainty regarding the Bank rate, but it is less depressed, as the money market, in New York is easier. TALLOW. LONDON, July 19. At the sales 545 casks were offered and sold. Mutton, fine, realised 50s, medium 46s 6d, beef, fine, 49s od, medium 465. TVHEAT. LONDON, July 19. The visible supply is 85,044,000 bushels. Chicago July options are quoted at 112 to 1124 cents, September at 113| to 1121, and December at 115 J. AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. ("Received July 20th. 10.30 p.m.) SYDNEY. July 20. ADELAIDE, July 20. Bran—£s. Pollard—£s 15s. MELBOURNE, July 20. Hides —There were fair supplies at to-day's auction. Sloppy lots wore neglected, but other sorts were steady. Dalgetv and Company. Ltd.. have received the following cablegram from their London office, dated. July 19th:— "Tallow: At the weekly aiiction, prices closed mostly Is per cwt., dearer. We quote prime mutton 50s per cwt. and good mixed 49s 6d per cwt." The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile _ Agency Company, Ltd., advise having received a cablegram from London giving the undernoted market information: —"Wool sales: Market active. As compared with June Bth, merino superior 5 to 7{ per cent., medium inferior 7.V to 10 per cent., lambs 5 per cent, higher; crossbred greasy and scoured medium and coarse abont 5 per cent., lambs par to 5 per cent lower: others little change."
