MaLEAN INSTITUTE. A meeting of the Board of Governors of the McLean Institute woe hedd yesterday afternoon. Preeeni:—The Mayor (Mr H. Holand), Hie Lordship Bishop Brodie, the Bev. P. N. Knight, the Kev. A. T. Thompson. Mr Geoige Harpor. and Mrs J. H. Wilson. Accounts for £913 Is 3d were passed for payment, and the meeting then went into committee to dieou&s. the rcet of the business. JUVENILE RECHABITES. Tho fortnightly meeting of the Linswood Juvenile Rechabilee was held in the new xtechabito Hall. St. Asaph street, on Wednesday. Thero was a laige attendance of juveniles and adults. Items were given by Bro Creeowell. Siet-er Creoswell, Bro. Rowlands, Sister Bowlande, Sistear Ramsay, Sister Heyder, Sister Leaver, and Bro. E. Hollander. A'ddxeeses were given by Broe. Smith and Leaver. As it was the birthday of one of the superintendents. Sister Bielby, she was presented with an autograph album from the office™ and members. After refreshments and gamt« the Tent was closed. EDOEWAKE BOWLING CLUB. A very enjoyable evening was epent at the Canterbury Caledonian Society's rooms on Wednesday, when the Edgeware Bowling Club entertained the Oaledonisn Socioty at a return card party and dance. There were 33 tables at caxd6, and the result of the games was a tie—lS6 games each. The two presidents, with their lady partners, played off, with the result that the bowlers' representative (Mr W. *G. Brass) beat the Caledonian chief (Mr Thomas) by 9 points to 7. After supper dancing was indulged in until 11 pjn. The committee of the Bowling Club wish to thank the ladies who assisted at the supper, and also the voluntary musicians and sincere.
