A MATTER OF OPINION.
XO THE EDITOIt OF "THE PRESS." Sir, —I noticed a letter in "The Press" some weeks back suggesting that pessimists should get three months. I say givo the optimist life. Personally I have been pessimistic since the declaration of war, and to-day am more pessimistic than ever. This -war is not going to be won by strafing the Germans over a stimulant, nor the waving of flags, or the silly talk of starving and bringing the enemy to a state of bankruptcy. There can be only one way of gaining the verdict, and that is by the whole Empire concentrating their brains and muscle against these armed legions. We cannot all fight, but we can all help, no matter how old or how poor, and I think now that the time has come for every individual to say, "I am sick of letting the other chap* do; I am going to do myself."—Yours, etc., E. Si LTTTTBELL. June Bth.
