BILLIARDS
After a fortnight's playing o£ preliminary rounds, tlio small tabic owners' tournament proper, of '-50 up, was commenced in Messrs Alcock and Co., Ltd.'a, showroom oa Wednesday night before a lavge audience, iipou au Bft oak billiard dining table. The first game was won by V\\ J. Henry (scr) 250, from J, A. Lnmaiis (scr) 190. IMay was very even during the early part of the Sjamo, both players being very consistent. Tbo second game, between D. Smith (owe 75) and G. H. Edmonds (owe -0). was very exciting. Smith just scoring his 250 points when Edmonds was 2-14. Tlio best breaks in this gam© were: —Smith, IS, and 36. and Edmonds 32, 25, und 17. In. the third game, C. Shaw (owe 10) liad an easy wictbry over J. S. Wearn (owe 23). Sbaw, with breaks of 52. 29, and 26, ran to his 250 points when "Wearn was 334. The tournament will be continued on -Monday evening.
