A MAN MISSING. ♦ ■ No news has been heard-yet of the elderly man named Maurice Fitzpatrick, who resided at Dyer's road, Brou^ 1 ley, and who mysteriously disappeared last Monday night. He was last seen at Guinness's Store, on the road to Bromley, where he obtained two bags of chaff, and since he left the store he has not been seen or heard of. Ilis horse and cart, however, were found in the river beyond Burwood. Tho horse was in a deep part of the river, but it was got out alive, but no trace of Fitzpatrick was found. The polico have been busily engaged in dragging the river about the spot, with no result • so far. The missing man was over 70; years of age, and ho married the sister i of Mr G. W. Leadley, of Ashburton. j and has a grown-up family—one son being.at the front and others settled 'u the North Island. He leased and occupied the old rifle range at Bromley, where he ran a few horses.
