THE PICTURE SHOWS.
# TO IJIE EDITOR OF "THE TRESS." Sir,—"Ex tenebris." which may bo translated "from the depths of my tub," I congratulate'- you. As you agree with most of my views, your charge of exaggeration fails. True, you replace it by one of a "picturesque vocabulary," which sounds very naughty. Let me hope you mean a picturesque method of expression. But what mattors it? The light is dawning, and with it. little real experience; yon will yet T.'rite that which will scorch (not scotch) and wither up this one of the many abuses ' an enlightened Press should make the object of its scorn. Fare thee well; my best wishes go with vou.—Yours, etc., DIOGENES. J;:nc 2nd. "> >
