(r&on OCR own correspondent.) LONDON, April 25. Mr "William Guthrie Salmond (son-of the New Zealand Solicitor-General), who enlisted with tho 21st. Lancers, and got his first stripe in February, 1915, is gazetted to a commission in the North Somerset Yoomanry. Flight-Sergeant Frank Nuttall (Christchurch), who has been attached to No. 6 Squadron Royal Flying Corps, is uow temporary 2nd lieutenant, and is posted for duty with the military wing of the R.F.C. Mr H. G. Kemp (Christchurch and Nelson) camc to England hoping to become a despatch rider. He has been posted to this duty in tho Royal Engineers, and is at present in training, with Birmingham as his headquarters. Ten New Zealand nurses camc from Egypt to England by the hospital ship Devanha, ana aro now stationed at Queen Mary's Hospital, at Whalley, Lancashire. They arc: —Sisters H. Carruthers, E. J. Child, J. Lodge, DM. Anderson, E. M. Curtis, E. H. Person, A. A. Evans, V. K. Petersen, M. Galloway, and T. M. d'Emden. •Second Lieutenant Noel Ross (general list) relinquishes his commission on accotint of ill health (dated April 21st). Lieutenant H. B. D. "Wilcox, who was adjutant of his battalion of tho Sherwood Foresters, and holds the temporary rank of captain, is seconded from his regiment for staff duty. He has greatly distinguished himself in the war, and has been decorated. Mr C. A. Jordan, son of the UnderSecretary for Justice in New Zealand, has gone to the front with a draft of tho King's Royal Rifles, in which he enlisted in August last. Mr Brett Wood (Christchurch) and Mr Charles Allan (Dunedin) are two young New Zealnnders who arc eager to eet into tho R.F.C. Mr Albert F. Sollars (Christchurch), who arrived by the Rotorua quite recently, has joined the Royal Naval Air Service.

Captain Leopold McLaghlen. who was training: recruits in New Zealand and Australia during part of 1915, and who arrived in London at the end of that venr, has obtained a commission in the 25th Royal Fusiliers. He expects to leave shortlv for East Africa. Captain MoLnjrhlen, w ' lo served in the Smith African war, is the son of tlio "Rinrht Rev. Bishop MeLaehlen. titular Bishop of Claremont, South Africa. Mr Lynton E. Walcot Wood (Christchurch) arrived by the Tainui, and is trying for a commission in the Roval Flying Corps. Major H. T. Fulton, D.5.0., 2nd Gurkha Rifles, has been appointed brigade commander with the temporary rank of brigadier-general. Major Fulton, who is the son of Major-Gen-eral Fulton, of Ota-go, was in New Zealand when the. war broke out/ but soon afterwards rejoined his regiment. Messrs E. P. V. Sealy (Timaru). H. W. H. Sams (Balmoral Station. Canterbury), and H, B. Cogan (Christchurch) arc expecting to leave for France to work in connexion with the Service do Santo Militaire.
