This Stud was founded by Mr John Rennie, of Doyleston who by the importation of fresh blood from Scotland and also > by making use of the best sires available in this country, laid the foundation of a stud, the breeding of which cannot bo beaten. The extended pedigrees contain tho names of such horses as Sir Everard, siro of tho famous .Baron's Pride, the most successful Clydesdale Stud Horse the world has ever produced; Lord Salisbury (imp.), tho fountain head of the breed in Australasia, and Crown Prince, generally acknowledged to havo been tho best Clydesdale ever bred in New Zealand.
