Corporal Robertson suitably replied, and was lieartily cheered at the conclusion of his remarks. Tho Carlylo Implement Works liave lost twenty employees through Enlistments, and several others are about to go into camp. A social to say farewell to Private G. Ivory, of the Fourteenth Reinforcements, was held in Carleton Hall on Friday last. Occasion. was taken to welcome Sapper Dalley, who went to Samoa, and then volunteered for tho Fourth Reinforcements. He was wounded at Gallipoli, and has received his discharge. A very enjoyable evening was spent. Songs; were given by Messrs Harding arid Pilkmgton, and a humorous recitation and Maori halca by Master E. "Wood. Dancing was kept up till the early Jjo-ura. Before tho supper adjournment a very pleasing ceremony took place. Mr Murfitt, tho chairman, introduced the guests of the evening. and Private Ivory was presented with a. heart protector, writing outfit, and handkerchiefs, and Sapper Dalley with a beautiful gold medal suitably inscribed. The Misses Inch and Mr Paget kindly 'supplied the music, and tho ladies tho refreshments.
