CASUALTIES.
The Coroner, Mr H. W. Bishop, held an enquiry yesterday into the dedth of Darnel* Sweeney, who committed suicide on Sunday by cutting his tnroat with, a razor. The evidence showed that deceased had had an attack of influenza lately, and had been rather more siiont than usual. At about 9 p.m. on Sunday he was talking to his father, and then went into an adjoining room. A few minutes later a thud was heard, and on bursting open the door, the deceased was found iymg on the floor, with his throat cut. and a razor lying on the floor near by. The Coroner said there was no evidence to show deceased's condition, and he would have to record a death that deceased committed suicide by cutting his throat.
A SOLDIER'S SUICIDE. (tress association telegrams.) WELLINGTON, May 29. A member of the 14th Reinforcements named Bernard Walsh, committed suicide at Karori yesterday morning by cutting his throat with a razor. Dr. HeJiry was at once sent for, but the unfortunate man expired before the doctor arrived. DUNEDIN, May 29. The body of Thomas Cassidy, a wool scourer, was found in the Lindis river last evening with the throat cut.
