The Canterbury and North Island men who returned by the Willochra will reach Christchurch by special train, which is expected to arrive about 8 o'clock this evening. The local men will bo taken to their homes by motorcar. and the men for the North Island will go through to Lyttelton, and go. on by the ferry steamer to Wellington. "Tlie Canterbury Automobile Association will be obliged if members will place their cars* at the disposal of the committee for tne purpose of conveying soldiers returning to-night by tiie Willochra.

Colonel Valfntine, Chief Health Officer, when interviewed, stated tnat everything was satisfactory. Medical men remark iiow very mucii the general health and appearancc or the men lias improved. Vaccination has been most satisfactory. Onl v 23 out of the whole number do not show marks of efficient vaccination. They have been vaccinated three times, and if they do not take, it may be regarded as conclusive proof that they are immune from vaccination. All the men, with the exception of two smallpox cases, and the attendants, will be released to-morrow. One case is very seriously ill. Ho is a "NVaikato man. Out of 15 cot cases only one is regarded as really ill. The crew of the Willochra have been released. all having been efficiently vaccinated. _ Colonel Valintine states 'that considering the outbreak on the ship, he quito exacted to have more cases of smallpox.
