Bates, Government Meteorologist, supplied the following weather report at 4 p.m. yesterday:— Strong westerly winds have ruled, wi-n gloomy conditions generally, and rain has fallen on the Dost Coast and in. Bouthorn districts. Atmospheric pressure has decreased. . Present indications are for high west to south-west winds, cloudy and "unsettled weather, with heavy showers in many partß of the country, eolder conditions soon, and the barometer falling for a short time in tho north, but probably rising again everywhere soon.
