BELFAST FLOWER SHOW.

A SUCCESSFUL EXHIBITION. The Belfast Horticultural Society held its annual show on Thursday evening. I" spite of tbe dry season, the standard of the exhibits was quite equal to former years, and oxcept for 'a alight falling off in n few classes, the show was one of the beat held in Belfast. The attendance this year exceeded that of last year, perhaps owing to the f :ict that the proceeds -are to be fjive-n to the local lied Cross S'oaciiy. Special features of the show were a display of Ked Cress work, -.<n exhibit of cut blooms by Mr Baylies, and a collection of roses by Air Poulsen, among which wero four distinct new varieties named Constance. National Emblem. Margaret Dickson, ilamel, and Gorgeous. Mr Joyce acted as judge for the flower 3, fruit, and vegetables, and Mrs Clothier judged the floral work and children's section. Their services were much appreciated and highly satisfactory. The marrow guessing competition was won by Miss Guthrie, who guessed 257, the correct number being 363.
