- One male first offender foi\ drunken res* was fined.os or 24 hours' imprison ment.

Alexander Scrimgeour, for a second offence of drunkenness, iwas fined 10s, in default 48 hours' imprisonment. A TRIPLE CHARGE.

Alfred Porter was charged with (a) drunkenness in High street; (b) being drunk and quarrelsome, he did refuse to quit the licensed premises of tho Empire Hotel when requested to do so by tho innkeeper; and (c) with assaulting one Frank Lagan, a barman employed at the Empire' Hotel. Accused who pleaded not guilty, was fined 5s or 24 hours' imprisonment for drunkenness, 20s or 14 days' imprisonment for j refusing io ouit the hotel when ordered to do so. and 20s or 14 days' imprisonment, for-the assault, the sentences to be cumulative. CIVIL BUSINESS. Judgment for the plaintiff by default was given in each of the following eases:—W. "Watson- and Co., Ltd. j v. H. J. Iveogh. £25 los: Anderson's, Ltd: r. J: H. Ltd. v. Harriot McLeay, £22 16s; Thomas 'lenry Marker v. Charles Robert Morton, £10 12s. AUCKLAND SESSIONS. (I'RESS ASSOCIATION' TELEGIUM.) AUCKLAND March 9. At the "Supreme Court to-day, Roy Hastings aged 24. on seven charcres of forgery and uttering, was sentenced to six months' hard labour and to IS months' reformative treatment. William Seymour Ef.*sn. a young man, -was charged with breaking and entering, and was sentenced to two years' reformative treatment.
