•'Our troops have continued to progress in Artois bv bombing attacks west of La Folic farm. Two German attacks west of Hill 140 were completely repulsed. The Germans exploded a mine north of the NcuvilleTliclus road, but wo occupied the crater. "The enemy iricd to dobouch at a point south of the Sommc, but was driven back."
The High Commissioner reports: — LONDON, February 10 (5.30 p.m.). Fighting with grenades, t-lio Frenc'i were enabled to drivo out tho enemy from 6ome trenches they occupied west o. 1 La Folio farm. The Germans during the night at : tacked tho positions on tho road from Neuvillc to La Folic. The attacks wero repulsed, tho enemy only taking foot in one crater previously lost. South of the Somme in the course of minor actions on Tuesday and Wednesday, the French capturcd fifty prisoners, two mitrailleuses, and a larger piece. LONDON, February 11 (2.50 a.m.). Two enemy attacks west of Hill 140 were repulsed. "Wo occupied tho crater after a mine was exploded by the Germans on the Neuvillc-Thelus road. "Wo made effective bombardments of the enemy's works at ' Beuvraignes (south by west of Royc), and at Mesnil. Munition depots were exploded by our fire in the enemy's salient at the forest of Mort Ala re (between St. Mihicl and I'ont-a-Mousson). THE GERMAN REPORT. GROUND GAINED NEAR YIMY. FRENCH SUCCESS SOUTH OF THE SOMME. (Received Februarv I.lth, 10.30 p.m.) AMSTERDA3I, February 10. A German communique says:— '•'We captured a large section of trench north-west of Vimy. "We recaptured in the neighbourhood of Ncuville a mine crater which was in tho enemy's occupation. AVe captured twenty-two machine-guns. "Wo repulsed local attacks south of the Somme. The enemy north of Becquincourt obtained a foothold in a small section of our foremost trenches." Becquincourt is about two miles due south of Frise, on the south bank or the Somme. ENEMY REINFORCEMENTS. CONCENTRATION IN BELGIUM. (Received February lltli, 10.30 p.m.) AMSTERDAM, February 11. Many trains filled with troops have passed through Louvain, and are concentrating at Roulers and Courtrai. Most of the troops are from tho Balkans and many of them are mere boys.
