COUNTY COUNCILS.
WAIPAKA, The Waipara County Council met at Waikari on Saturday. Present—Messrs R. Evans (chairman), G. Rutherford, H. H. Holland. N. I>. Campbell, T. E. L. Roberts, and TV. W. Mcllae. Cr. Rutherford was electetl to represent the Council at a meeting of local bodies, to be held at Rangiora, for tho purpose of electing a representative on the executive of the Poor of Great Britain, Ireland, and Belgium Fund. Correspondence was received from Dalgety and Co., enclosing a cheque for £21 Is for proceeds of a halo of wobl given to the County's Patriotic Fund by Mr G. Rutherford. Mr J. Smcllic wrote regarding the stato of the Hurunui Bluff road, also statimr that Messrs Pyne and Co. had sold a bale of his wool for tho Patriotic Fund, which realised £18 lis. The clerk reported that tho Patriotic Fund now stood at £120 7s. The UnderSecretary of Internal Affairs wrote stating that the Motor Registration letters would bo "vT.P.R. It was decided to invite applications for the position of poundkeeper.
